Our Philosophy
History
Buana Siswa School was officially registered as a formal National School in September 2024. The school was initially established by Mr Ferry Agussurya Hidayat in 2010 as a homeschooling institution. Mr Ferry recognized the need for a nurturing educational environment in his tuition centre community. The tuition centre offered tutoring services in various subjects specializing in Math and Science subjects and focusing on individualized attention to help students improve their academic grades and build confidence in their academic abilities. Over the years, the centre gained a renowned reputation for its dedicated teachers and effective teaching strategies.
In those recent years, the demand for alternative education options had significantly increased. In response to these growing demands, the leader of the tuition centre decided to transition from a traditional tutoring model to a comprehensive homeschooling program. This change was officially announced in midst of 2010, with the goal of providing parents with a structured yet flexible educational framework while still assuring the best education quality for their children.
The school opened its doors, operating out of a repurposed tuition centre and providing academic guidance for students undertaking Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Levels curricula.
Celebrating its 14th anniversary in 2024, PKBM Buana Siswa Pratama reflected on its achievements and reaffirmed its missions. In response to growing demands of parents to establish its position as a formal educational institution, the school officially obtained its formal National School licence in September 2024. During this period, extracurricular activities were introduced, including sports, information communication and technology, and community service initiatives, fostering a strong sense of school spirit and community involvement. The school building underwent major reconstruction and refurbishment in 2022 to accommodate the significant increase in the number of students.
In 2021, PKBM Buana Siswa Pratama achieved Accreditation ‘A’ from National Accreditation Board (BAN), which affirmed its commitment to high educational standards. The school officially launched its lower secondary level programmes catering from Year 7 until Year 9, attesting its commitment to serving best quality of education from Year 7 until Year 12. Partnerships with International Universities were established to provide more thorough information and insights for our students regarding the distinctive programmes that are offered. Our commitment to academic excellence enables students to not only gain Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award but also being offered scholarship by International Universities upon completion of their high school which is subject to their Cambridge A level results in Year 12.
The school obtained its non-formal educational licence under the name of PKBM Buana Siswa Pratama in 2016 catering from Year 10 until Year 12 educational levels. The building was completely refurbished in 2016, featuring small-sized classrooms equipped with facilities that support learning activities.
During this period, our students’ academic excellence gained international acknowledgement and recognition from Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards.
In its first few years, the homeschooling focused on developing and implementing curricula that emphasized critical thinking, creativity, and comprehensive academic strength. The small class sizes allowed for personalized attention, and the school quickly gained a reputation for its students’ outstanding academic performance. In 2016, discussions about establishing non-formal educational institution were made.
